Mobile Tensaw Delta Bass

After hearing much talk about specks and reds running North of the causeway, we had our sites set on Spanish River, but instead ended up getting into a mess of nice Bass back up in the creeks.

We launched from the William Brooks park around 7:30am and blasted out to the Spanish. There at the mouth all the way through the middle of the river, we fished gulp and cocaho minnow jigs along with the occasional crankbait with little luck (one croker).

Due to high winds and no action we headed back towards the launch, running up into Bear Creek. Upon arriving into 1-2 foot water in one area, we noticed hundreds of baby bass schooling around feeding. So we backed off where the flat dropped into about 5 foot of water and proceeded to land several nice bass on shallow diving crankbaits. Headed home with seven keepers. Was a beautiful day to be on the water!
