Dog River Winter Bass
January 21, 2012
Over the past month or so we've been hitting up some Redfish and Speck action, but slowly but surely the itch for some Bass fishing crept back in. So we decided to fish our home turf up in Dog River's creeks this past Saturday.
Starting out in Rattlesnake Bayou, we had a lot of cloud cover, so we figured spinnerbaits would be our best bet to locate the fish. Thankfully it paid off as we started catching them in about 3-5 foot of water (slightly stained).
After getting rained on and the bite dying off there, we ran to Rabbit Creek with much clearer water and no action with the spinners. Finally, we ran a good ways over to Cypress Creek, as the sun started to come out, where we found a lot of activity. Switching over to plastic we put a few more of them on the hook for some good fun. We ran back to the launch around 4pm or so. Great weather and good fishing!
